About Me

CURRENT MISSION

All I have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to me

ABOUT ME

My friends would say I'm the weird girl. And shy. But friendly. I work hard to be honest, but honesty is hard, so sometimes that results in not saying much. Hence, "shy". I've learned to enjoy soaking in the influences of new company, new people, new friends, but I'm totally fine being alone, as well. I come from a family known for creativity, event production, and sometimes at lot of drama. I tend toward the roles of peacemaker, healer, and when it comes to it, leader.

PHILOSOPHY

I start with the fact that there's a possibility I'm wrong, and that there's nothing wrong with that ... and I go from there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

mostly used it to find hosts - haven't actually hosted yet

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met a couple fantastic hosts in Scotland. I'm always up for meeting more.

Interests

I spend a lot of time learning about children and working with them. But not having them.
I consume stories in the form of books and movies. I enjoy eating, so out of desperation, I enjoy cooking. Music is part of my soul; I take it everywhere.
Thanks to LivingSocial and Groupon I try a lot of new activities.
Things that offer an opportunity to better myself, aid in bettering others, or give me a break from trying to do either are of interest to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy the spectrum from fact to the furthest reaches of imagination {Sci-Fi, textbooks, Fantasy, memoirs}. Not so much romance or horror, though.
Similar with movies, just add comedy and thrillers.
My interests don't change - they simply accumulate and expand. Thus, my music goes something like this: {Disney, bluegrass, hip hop, symphonic rock, alternative, folk, big band, young country, pop, spiritual, classical, film soundtracks}

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) As a baby lover, many of the amazing things I've seen involve very small people, and very small moments. If you blink, or if you don't know what you're looking at, you could miss them.
2) On the other hand, one amazing experience was a group hug with over 300 people. I'm not a huggy-people-person, but this was a moment that started to open my eyes to the impact of connection and community.
3) Hiking Mt. Si by myself, taking a side trail to a steep sloped clearing and looking out over the Cascade foothills and beyond.
4) Hiking Mt. Si at night to watch Independence Day fireworks.

Teach, Learn, Share

Play always. From our first contact with another human to our last, we learn through play. Playing >is< learning; they are not mutually exclusive. Oxymoronically, many people must learn to play again.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Snacks. I buy & make great snacks and delight in sharing them. Until the last bite, that is. I want the last bite.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Haiti, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Philippines, Scotland, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
