About Me

So please stop sending me requests for 2 or more people. It's a waste of time for you and me, so in the future I'll reject them without an explanation given.

to make the world a better place... at least a little bit!

I think I'm a quite spontaneous person (that's why I rather like short notice request ;) with a good portion of black humor. I'm accessible to almost everyone and like to explore the world in my own way, so that I know what I am talking about. And I HATE being forced to be communicative right after getting up - so don't worry if I don't talk that much in the morning (it's never a personal thing!)I LOVE trackpants, pyjamas, sweat pants, however you want to call them. I wear them 80% of the time and it doesn't matter if it's inside or outside.

I grew up in Berlin and lived in Mainz (West Germany) for 2 years. After some years travelling/doing nothing I settled to study "International Development" in London (5 semesters) and Cairo (1 semester).
After two seasons working as Divemaster in Thailand and Indonesia I'm back in my hometown to add a masters degree (International Relations) to my résumé.

Almost everything that Terziano Terzani talks about in "Das Ende ist mein Anfang"!

Do what ever you want to do. As long you have a good feeling about it and don't bother to harm other people with your lifestyle, it is the right thing!

Respect every person you meet, so they will respect you (or at least most of them ;) and try to change the world towards a better place. Even if it's only small steps at a time - a change is a change!

And last but not least two quotes I try to live after:

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi

"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." - Albert Einstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Surfing, hosting, meetings, discussions - more or less everything this platform has to offer...

I started hosting back in Berlin, did lots of surfing during my travels and enjoyed every bit of it! Just recently I picked up joining activities and meetings.

-People in general
-Growing as a person and character
-Photography (even though its sometimes hard to compensate for my lack of creativity with technical know-how)
-London sunsets right in front of my window (unfortunately not anymore)
-Reading books, articles, everything...

and the usual stuff like traveling, partying and movies (1273 and counting...)

Music, Movies, and Books

this is a list of almost all the movies I've seen in the past 7 years

Das Ende ist mein Anfang
Slaughterhouse Five
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Die Physiker
Veronica decides to die
The Beach
World War Z
The Great Gatsby
The Kite Runner
Life of Pie
The Martian

and many more since I bought a Kindle and started reading again. I LOVE movies but now my new hobby is to read books that are then made into movies, just to criticise the shit out of those movies :D

a lot! There's definitely too much good music to name it all - it always depends on the mood.

60s (Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Supremes)
70s (Joy Division, David Bowie)
80s (who doesn't like 80s?!?)
90s (Hip Hop, Neo-Soul and bad pop music)
Today (still Hip Hop (German & US), Electro, Techno, Minimal)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-El Nido, Philippines
everybody who's been there know what I'm talking about...
-The world underwater
-Space Shuttle launch from Cape Canaveral

-Scuba Diving
-Riding an old Sowjet motorbike from Saigon to Hanoi
-48hrs train ride in India on the "wooden bench"-class

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some basic knowledge of photography (e.g. how to use a camera properly), some cooking stuff, how to give a f**k about other peoples (bad) opinion about you and of course German (if anybody fancies to learn that language ;)

In exchange for technical photography knowledge I would love to get some creativity and I'm always keen about other languages. Culinary creativity impulses are also more than welcome.

Sharing - almost everything, except the food from my plate. I come from a huge family so the food on my plate is sacred ground ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Palestine, Philippines, Singapore, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Egypt, Germany, Thailand, United Kingdom
