ABOUT ME

Usually I am described talkative, energetic and curious. I am usually kind and friendly to others: I try to treat others how I would like to be treated. My parents raised me to be polite trustworthy...and I guess they succeeded.

I can also be irritating as I love to chat. In Finland, it is not a very appreciated thing. As I don't have kids (or even a pet fish), I am used to taking care of only myself. That can make me a bit selfish and self observed at times.(I am pretty honest too)

Interessen

Most of the people I know don't watch TV. I sure enough do! I love shows with a fantasy element, like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and True Blood, as well as "historic' series like Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice. Gilmore Girls and their witty banter is one of my all time favorites. I also love to read everything from chick lit to Lord of the Rings.

I have spent a lot of time with foreigners in Finland (it's not the easiest of places for a foreigner). I have been on the board of the Erasmus Student Network and I have also been a tutor for exchange students at my university. Being a Red Cross' friend for an immigrant from Cameroon was also hugely rewarding.

I often bake for my friends and family, mousse cakes and lime pies and such. I love sipping some wine or good cider in awesome company. Giving our dog a belly rub is also pretty great. In an urban environment I try to take advantage of the different cultural events offered, like theatre, cinema and dance. Shopping for the perfect pair of red shoes isn't bad either.

When I can, I go to my family's cottage by a lake to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I spent a few days in an ecolodge in the midst of the senegalese mangrove forest. There were no cars and no noise, just us surrounded by stunning nature. It was exactly what I needed after two months in the middle of cars, crowds of people and piles of smelly rubbish.

One of the most amazing things was to realize that I had managed to build a life for me in Sicily. I spent 10 months there an exchange student in a smallish town. I had great friends, a lovely host family, grandparents (a grandma that made pizza on Sundays) and my routines at school. Not so flashy as an "amazing thing"...but priceless.
