Hello! I grew up in the US but have spent 2 years in France, first in Aix-en-Provence and most recently in Roanne. I am passionate about learning languages, and I love learning about other people's cultures and traditions. I am also a huge fan of medieval history and poetry as well as bells so I often travel to find a bit of both!

I love meeting new people, and I think it is more important than ever to make cross-cultural friendships and to learn about other traditions and cultures than our own.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to almost any kind of music.

My favorite film director is Stanley Kubrick (my favorite film is The Shining), and I love foreign, independent, and horror films.

Favorite book of all time is The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, but currently I'm reading a lot of contemporary French literature. I love new suggestions, particularly books in French or Italian!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled all over France meeting with different carillonneurs (people who play the carillon, large bells often found in churches) and playing the carillon, one of my most memorable projects.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to practice my Italian or French with native speakers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A cheerful personality and a sense of tidiness. I also would be happy to help with English/or French, and while I'm not terribly inventive in the kitchen I make a great sous-chef!
