About Me

celiny autonomous zone

uff.. tiny, moody, bookworm, experimenter, voracious of new ideas and good people around, to think talk cry&laugh out loud together ~ to share dulcet silence while looking for wild strawberries in the woods, yummy

also some kind of a paper art freak ~~

about us: we used to move a lot, living in different places and countries, but now we've settled down for a while, our son1 started school and so on :)

alternative education.. our current focus and a brand new challenge

anyway now we decided to spend some time here in Kielce and start to build up a habitat in Celiny countryside, that-is-to-be our small own autonomous zone. we're fascinated with alternative/natural building and all the stuff.. earthen architecture, straw-bale walls, clay finishes, dancing in the mud & hard work as well. always eager to learn more: adobe, cordwood, cob, earthships.. those endless possibilities are so inspiring, and may change mainstream building paradigm as well

we go in for that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

3 (free) couches to share

we've just hitchhiked across Argentina & Chile with plenty of fleeting e-n-r-i-c-h-i-n-g encounters, so beautiful people and their spontaneous generosity by the way.. never-to-be-forgotten journey

CS stimulates and nourishes my mind, that's exactly how I imagine real traveling aaaaand... there're so many soulmates to host!

specifically iterested in how to stretch the time and extend days as there is always a little too little time for all these wonderful things that flitted in front of us

Music, Movies, and Books

books've been always the most important:

* J.M. Coetzee: elegant restraint and ethics
* Henry Miller: vice versa :)
* Hakim Bey: temporary autonomous zone
* Cortazar: todo
* William Faulkner, Cormac McCarthy, Fernando Pessoa: mood
* Henry David Thoreau: Walden
* Dubravka Ugresic: journalism
* Emmanuel Levinas and Martin Buber: philosophy of dialogue
* Kuki Shuzo: iki, the essence of japanese'ness
* poetry of Khalil Gibran
* Witold Gombrowicz: my Polish master
* ..and plenty of alterative building manuals, I'd recommend these of Gernot Minke, Lloyd Kahn and Bill & Athena Steen

movies that made me cry:

* "Empty House" Kim Ki-duk
* the trilogy of Park Chan-wook
* "Buffalo'66" Vincent Gallo
* "Le Scaphandre et le papillon" Julian Schnabel
* "Dead Man's Shoes" Shane Meadow
* "Waste Land" Lucy Walker
* "Man on Wire" James Marsh
& more
"salt of the earth" most recently

music: indie, classical and ethnical + ..cocorosie, Sinead O, Manu Chao, Tiger Lillies, CatPower, Glass, Silver Mt. Zion, more of experimental sounds & more & more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

we can teach you

* experiments with plants' fiber: lamps, paper, sculpture
* building small architecture using wood, clay & straw
* how to make a quite simple biological wastewater treatment system - Subsurface Flow Constructed Wetland (SFCW)
* films and prints development (darkroom fun, an ancient analog method :)
* making copperplates, linocuts, some more printing/graphic techniques that I'm not sure how to name
* making eco-hand-made toothpaste, facial cosmetics, home-cleaning agents, soap soon
* creative recycling
* how to prepare delicious paella, sushi and hummus (Marcin, a cosmopolitan cook)
* chopping wood in a meditative way
* dream to much

* well.. still in progress, working on that

ha! a new-one: how to build a big clay pizza oven!
