Friendly kiwi travelling abroad 🇳🇿
It's my first time in Europe and I'm loving it! Trying my best to learn the languages (so many!) I'm an aspiring tattoo artist, lover of folk songs, and cider afficionado. I love the volunteering life and I don't shy away from a bit of honest toil, so if there's anything I can do to help out please let me know! 💪

I haven't had any luck with couchsurfing so far, I'd dearly love if you could give me a chance and be my first 'surfing experience! 🙏

I vaguely aim for places that are off the beaten track, rather than hitting the main tourist attractions. I want to see things I've never seen before, have experiences that are totally foreign to me. Confused? Lost? Sure! It's all part of the fun! I'm a very laid-back traveller. I have no real preference for where I go and when, just so long as I go somewhere! I find that the best part of travelling is the personal moments anyway. Not getting a classic snap in front of Famous Building #1648, but finding free bagels on a windowsill or meeting new friends at a nude beach ✌️

I love to join in with fellow travellers, no matter the destination! Going camping in Kosovo? Sounds great! Spontaneity is key to my adventures. I'm a solo traveler so I love the freedom to be able to leap on a random bus and see where I end up. And I haven't been murdered even once so my luck is holding out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm keen to see the road less traveled! If your beautiful town gets missed by the tourist train, please let me come visit! I will appreciate all it's quirks 😃 Volunteering and couchsurfing with friendly strangers is my best bet for long-term travel, and it's rewarding in more ways than one! I love getting these fab new experiences I otherwise wouldn't have had.

Interests

Travel-wise, my aspirations are the really basic stuff. I want to have long conversations, to cackle with strangers, to get absorbed in wild tales and exchange my own. To empathize and encourage. I want to bask on hot days, pick flowers, and fall asleep to the sound of rain. All that hippie nonsense, luv it. History and architecture, I don't knock 'em, but I'd rather find a dog to pat than read up about Gloucester's 3rd cardinal. I'm just here to have a cool fun time. I want to be a sponge for good memories I can hoard for the rest of my life.

Guillermo Del Toro, Kurt Vonnegut, weird arthouse films, dystopia, horror, and rad monster movies.

I love a mix of bleak horror films and creepy sci-fi! Romcoms or action flicks aren't my fave. I like films to be as weird and inscrutable as possible. David Lynch? Sign me up. Lars Von Trier? Get the popcorn out 💯

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While travelling solo in Mexico I thought I wasn't being quite adventurous enough, so I bought a dubious scooter and learnt how to drive on the spot, in a trial by fire: inner-city rush-hour traffic. I survived with minor damage!
