ABOUT ME

I'm silly, geeky, and intuitive. I have a billion cool stories to tell, but I love listening and learning even more. Textbook INFJ. I'm a twentysomething with the life experience of a 40 year old :P

I'm currently 4.5 months pregnant, with plans in place for adoption. Being a birthmom has changed my life completely and given me a ton of perspective on how each of our lives impact others. It's really interesting to be growing a little person! Though the food cravings are vicious...

I'm moving from Atlanta to Los Angeles at the end of August. I'm driving it by myself... what an exhausting trip! Although I'm absolutely an introvert, doing 8-10 hours a day with no company is going to be rough, hence my interest in couchsurfing. Once I get to my new house, I'll be excited to start doing some hosting :)

PHILOSOPHY

Approach everyone as if you're the first person who's been nice to them all day. Life is hard... at the end of the day, all we have is each other.

None yet! Still new. But I'm an active Redditor and participate regularly in Meetup groups!

Interests

I get really excited about learning how to cook with local produce. I'm a CSA junkie; the more stuff I don't know what to do with, the better! I'm passionate about caring for animals. I've volunteered with several animal shelters, I've fostered animals, I grew up with animals of my own (even a llama!)... they're my life. As a former music major, I love finding a piano/keyboard or a guitar or a violin somewhere and just freestyling. I also happen to make great baked goods!

Music, Movies, and Books

So, my favorite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Saving Silverman (if you haven't seen it, it is hilariously bad and great all at once), Love Actually (the ultimate Christmas movie), and Identity (creepy and slightly predictable but awesome). I can listen to basically any kind of music and enjoy it! Some favorites are Death Cab For Cutie, That Dog, Motion City Soundtrack, The Weakerthans, and The Decemberists.

I absorb books via osmosis. I have a teensy obsession with science fiction and Neil Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a birthmom, so the whole adoption experience definitely left me in awe. Watching my kiddo grow up with their new family is something I have been so lucky to be able to experience.
