To discover the real heart of nations. And why and how they beat.
I'm a tour guide based in Dublin. That's also, to a great extent, who I am:
I love meeting new people, inspiring them, having great times, showing them my country and really giving them a proper feel of it. I'm quite a funny guy, accommodating and thorough. An amateur actor, I can be quite theatrical.
I'd love to share who I am and also inspire you to come visit Ireland. But more than anything, I want to know who you are, and to really get a true sense of your city/country.
Learn like you'll live forever.
Life is about living not having, so share the best times you can make and don't think about price. A cynic, as another Irishman, Oscar Wilde, said, is someone who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to couchsurfing. I've heard nothing but good things. I flirted with the idea, until finally deciding to get into it properly after I realised that, on a recent trip to the city, I knew no one in Zurich.
None, only hearing many's a good word
Art - in all its forms (painting, sculpture, architecture, skateboarding [a combination of the three, i suppose], photography etc.)
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I tend not to have the patience for most novels, so I still to short stories (like Joyce and Poe), and Irish folk tales. But more often than not, I'll be reading a history book or something deep like that to better understand the hear and now.
Music: rock, hard rock, heavy metal, classical, French music: Aznavour; Piaf; Brel,Frank Sinatra, Engelbert Humperdinck,David Bowie, Porcupine Tree, Pearl Jam, and Steel Panther! But that's just a taster of the diversity of my music tastes.
And my 3 favourite bands are:
Diamond Head, Primordial, Black Sabbath!
Movies: Dumb and Dumber (and the soundtrack!), Lords of Dogtown, The Warriors
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Thank you for asking this question. A great thing to ask yourself every single day.
'Don't mistake activity for achievement'
One amazing thing I have done in my life is to not have lost who I am, despite the pressures of society, despite the odds, despite the oppression. To remain true to myself.
