I've been told I'm loyal, trustworthy, friendly, original, young at heart, caring, with a good sense of humour.
I just completed a Masters degree and would love to see more of the world and connect with new people.
Also, I love to host (when I can) and LOVE to cook delicious huge feasts!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've only just signed up to couchsurfing. I would be happy to host, when I can.
I have been hosting friends, family and travelers I have met on my own travel adventures for many years. I only just signed up to couchsurfing recently.
I have been told by close friends and family that couch surfing is the best for traveling the world & making new connections. When I have a couch surfing experience, I'll be happy to share!
The little things in life are important to me - cups of tea, sunsets, walks in nature, people watching, reading, sharing a bottle of red wine with nice company, learning new things, doing little creative projects, making jam, cooking soups, spending quality time, riding my bike, art exhibition openings and listening to funk, jazz and soul music.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I'm fully immersed in books related to chemistry, art history, anthropology, materials science, archaeology.
Not that I watch TV often, but if I do: The Wire, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Treme - most things HBO
Music: In no particular order - Sharon Jones & the Dapkings, Nina Simone, Beastie Boys, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Alice Russell, Gillian Welch, PBS-aired stuff, Sam Cooke, Batucada Sound Machine, Ann Peebles, Ella Fitz, Thievery Corporation, Ray Charles, Tool, Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro, Tijuana Cartel, Booker T, Lauryn Hill, Fat Freddys Drop, P-Funk, Tori Amos, Curtis Mayfield, Aretha, The Meters, Salmonella Dub, old school Prodigy, James Brown, Blackalicious, Alicia Keys, Bob Dylan... that's what I'm listening these days.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Tane Mahuta on the North Island, New Zealand. 2000 year old Kauri pine, King of the Forest. HUGE & very special!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm university trained in art restoration and can restore objects for museums (and the home), such as ceramics, glass, wood, metal & textiles.
Among other things, I make an excellent pesto, vegetable soups and can make soy chai from scratch. I would be happy to share all of my cooking skills.
