ABOUT ME

I've too long put off my international travels. My family and I have decided to get out and see the world! My daughter has been learning several foreign languages since birth (She is fluent in French and English and conversational in Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese!) I want to show my daughter the world and experience culture!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in treating others the way you want to be treated, and demonstrating that by treating yourself with love and respect. I don't take myself too seriously, laughter is just as important as meditation. Be the change you want to see in the world; put out what you want in return.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my 20's, at the beginning of the social network experiment, I would travel across America, following a band no less, and stay with strangers I'd met on this band's website. Those strangers became my friends. Having known them 10 plus years we have been through life together in good and bad times, seen the best and worst sides of each other, dealt with life's losses, been in each other's weddings and visited when babies were born. It's an experience I am excited to take global!

Musica, film e libri

I will listen to almost anything! Rap, Reggae, Hard Rock, folk, pop, electronica, salsa, afro beas, classic country, classical, jazz. My daughter likes Michael jackson, so it plays a lot in our house, along with j-pop, c-pop (ever hear of Khalil Fong?), and international children's songs. I believe music keeps me sane, and to me is as essential as water! I love a good book, but with a 3 year old, it's hard to get in anything besides a bedtime story. I love all cinema (I was a theater major at a performing arts high school in New Orleans.)

Learning from some of the best chefs while living in New York was a priceless experience. Watching my daughter and her friends speak languages with comprehension and fluidity at such a young age has been amazing as well. I hope to add many more amazing things to my list very soon!

I have taken a break from my culinary career to help in the start of an international trilingual school whose goal is to provide a full immersion education to children all over the globe. We hope to open several campuses internationally and offer travel study exchange to all of our students and their families.
As a chef I hope to spread my love of food and culture. I hope that my daughter can strengthen her language skills, and her dad and I can pick up a few things along the way as well.
