About Me

Roam the open fields even if it means getting lost along the way

I'm from a little place called Silicon Valley, where the silicon flows like wine and the Macbook Pros line the coffeeshops. But I'm not like that, I drink tea and well my computer is just a regular old MacBook. So you see, where you grow up doesn't really define who you are, does it?

You should never trust strangers. Unless they seem really nice, then hell, bring them back to your house to surf!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The alternative hostel. My first couchsurfing house started in La Paz, Bolivia, followed by another great place in Buenos Aires. Now Hubs and I, along with our two babes and a puppy live in Santa Cruz, California.

In Bolivia we started a family of couchsurfers that continued to grow.
-21 people (18 surfers, 3 roommates) 26 de Mayo 2009
-45 days Milo, France
-48 days Walter y Helene Germany/France
-70 days Irena, New Zealand (eventually moved in)

People came to stay 2 nights and didn't leave for 6 weeks. We preferred it that way. This was not a place to stay, this was a place to live, grow and meet friends that you'll keep for the rest of your life.

"You'll find a pair of safety glasses and some earplugs under your seats. Please feel free to use them."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cairo, Egypt.
Prayer calls went off at 4:00 am.
5 Egyptians and I flipped a coin of destiny.
Heads: horseback riding at the pyramids to watch the sunrise over Giza
Tails: Sleep
