About Me

Nearly one decade ago, as young man in his early twenties I chanced upon an idea of spending my free time singing & playing my guitar with little village children. At the back of mind, a dream played out of me as a popular musician performing before large audiences in prestigious concerts.
Little did I know then, that I would find my life’s calling and purpose in this beautiful activity. Born with a spiritual mind, and searching for something out of the box, my Commerce degree and specialization in design & animation, did not lead me to mainstream job. I deeply sought to discover my true identity beyond the facade of everyday needs and down to earth aspirations. A friend from Australia & I joined up as a team & worked with village children (age 8 to 10) who could barely speak any English, singing with them bright English & Hindi songs regularly, unknowingly getting them ready for an album. Right before my eyes, in six months time, these children (who had never been to the city before) were singing beautifully with correct accent, in a professional studio in Mumbai. And in this way, life had ushered me to look at this part of me seriously. My friend helped to edit, mix and launch these songs in an album in Adelaide, Australia. Some of these songs were highly appreciated by educators and teachers in Australian schools for their genuine authenticity. And back at home, village children sang these songs in every home I would go to, filling my heart with deep sense of satisfaction.
And then five years back, I managed to make that big leap, of discarding the familiar and known path, & becoming a full time volunteer in a village project called ‘Learning Space’. Just then, a novel idea arrived of simplifying English learning for primary village schools with pre-recorded DVDs, with best of animation, music and graphics. It was a very challenging moment to leave behind my life full of friends, bubbling city goodies, family closeness and to be in a remote village with hardly any amenities, struggling day in and day out, reaching out to interior places, and enjoying to watch hundreds of little ones, learn English rhymes and stories with the DVDs playing out of my laptop.

And wonder of wonders, in 2014, I am taking this English learning project to nearly 25000 children across the State, armed with a team of inspired local educated youth. The greatest part of the story is that in September 2014, I find myself standing before an audience of 1500 educators in Latur district, sharing with them a new methodology and singing & playing my guitar like I had once done with little village children.
On the 29th of November 2014 I was one of the few chosen to be invited by the Central Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad to New Delhi for a first time meet of young ambassadors for ‘MyGov.in’, to inspire youth across the country to contribute their skills and talent for the country’s growth and prosperity.
