About Me

more wine + long conversations with fascinating people

I like: moving places, doing stuff, bikes, cakes, jazz, drunk singing, talking (big talk!), dancing, sea, Peep Show and being inspired. Come and inspire me!

Love life. Make fun of everything that happens. Do not lie. Collect experiences.

I like what Zygmunt Bauman says.
I worship David Mitchell (yes, the comedian).
I want to be Eugene Hutz when I grow up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I share.

7 years of ups with no downs when it comes to CS
hosting, surfing, parties, travels, projects etc.
Some incredible people met on the way. I WANT MORE.

Here is the shortlist of the things I love:
Krakow- my home city;
London - that bloody bastard and my other love;
my friends and family - they keep me alive when I get depressed and inspire me all over again;
photos, books, poems, paintings, videos ..art, no matter how you describe it;
my bicycle(s) - my main mean of transport and more - we've had lots of adventures together;
urban studies;
dance - nothing professional (and thank God for that);
all the beauty in the world..
Now I want to learn salsa, zouk, scuba diving and Spanish. Can you help?

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, dear God... in these hard times, when we've been flooded with (mass)cultural goods it's so hard to make a shortlist.. but let's try..
American Beauty and Everything is Illuminated - for sure. I really like "Chocolat", it's my comfort movie for gloomy days. I was raised on Hollywood classics from 50s and 60s and Polish comedies of absurd, like the one about a guy who thinks he started WW2 by illegally crossing the border or the one about men becoming extinct and women taking over the world. I really enjoy British comedy series: Peep Show, Black Books, IT crowd, Green Wing and Father Ted.
If I was forced to pick favourite writers I'll probably say Milan Kundera and Michal Olszewski.

oh music! I really love Gogol Bordello and jazz standards but my music choices are not limited to this. A shortlist of my favourite songs of all times: "Sway", "Layla" (I love you, Eric Clapton), "Ain't no sunshine", "Mein shtetele Belz", "My strange uncles from abroad", "Man who sold the world". A person with a guitar and a simple song is something I like the most.

I'd love you to share some of your favourite music with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

snorkelled in a cenote
escaped a minibus full of fleas in the middle of the night, somewhere in the mountains
learned how to love
ate so much I was unable to stand up and yet survived

Teach, Learn, Share

anyone iterested in discussing the meaning of life, the worlds' future, one's identity, social problems, gender and representation, architecture, bicycles, food, history of Auschwitz or secrets of Krakow is very welcome.

things I can do also include: making cakes and desserts, cooking traditional Polish food, cycling, haircutting and selling things on ebay.

sometimes I go to my parents' house in the countryside, where you are also welcome as long as you wish to explore some real Poland with its unbelievably weird customs, traditions and heritage.
