I'm a 24 year old Australian wedding photographer with a great love of films, books, art and music. I'm terrified of flying but I have an insatiable urge to travel! I like to keep myself busy but work on my own terms. I strike a good balance between loving company, conversation and occasional craziness and enjoying quietness and solitude. I believe I am considerate and easy to get along with, and above all I try to be interesting and kind, and make people laugh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is the best way to meet great people because only the best and most interesting people lend their sofas to strangers that they meet on the internet. Really though.
I would prefer to stay with locals when travelling because you gain a much better understanding of the place you're visiting. And I love the idea of exchanging a meal, some cleaning or a delicious beverage for a sofa to sleep on and so far it's all been good! It's mutual consideration and generosity, and inevitably will end in unexpected adventures or brilliant conversations. One day when I have my own place I hope to return the favour by becoming a host.
I love photography, art, cinema and good food, good stories of all kinds! Films and books of course, but also telling a story or being told a good one.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Old Man and The Sea, Lolita, The Bell Jar, The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera.
I recently reread the Harry Potter series and it's still a series I love.
I love movies and shows too much to make a list, it would go on forever!
The music I like really varies. I like Ray Charles and Sam Cooke, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye, Joanna Newsom, Kate Bush and Mazzy Star, experimental instrumental music and rap music, Bus Driver is really good. I also enjoy classical music and jazz but I don't know much about them. I prefer quiet music, but I also love moving music and energising music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went paragliding in India and nearly died. Fun story though!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about photography and using your camera.
I can show you some great, easy vegetarian recipes. I'm not vegetarian myself but I mostly cook vego food at home because it's so much cheaper, delicious and more environmentally sustainable.
I would definitely love to learn anything you can teach me about your city and to share our favourite music and movies.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be more than happy to cook you dinner or do the dishes or vacuum or buy you a meal/drink in exchange for a roof over my head and something reasonably soft to sleep on.
