I am a first generation Latvian American. I applied for Latvian citizenship in 2014 and have been traveling in Europe for the last 2 years. Have been living in Riga since November researching my ancestors. Many of them were farmers in the Kolka, Liepa and Valmeiras parishes. My parents emigrated to the US in 1950 to avoid the Stalinist regime . I grew up in Nebraska and have lived in Colorado, Connecticut and most recently in Oregon . I've worked in the technology sector and as a landscape designer. I'm writing several books now , a historical fiction piece and a memoir. I also do energy work with a system called The Body Code, helping people clear energy blocks to well-being and wellness.

I'm a lifelong learner, so as i travel throughout the world, staying with locals is a great way to get to know the people, culture, language and history of an area.
