About Me
ABOUT ME
Always hard to say things about myself as I´m still learning every day what I´m about but here goes:
Brought up in a tiny village in Estonia I decided to go travel the big world, and have now been living in the UK for over 4 years. I am always up for a good chat about politics, society, music, cultures, travelling, languages and food, and want to involve as much of all these in my life as possible.
A huge part of my life is living sustainbly, and thus I have decided to become vegan, cycle, grow some of my own food and keep food as local as possible, and live in a housing co-op.
I have just finished an internship as a project and fundraising officer in a local NGO, and are currently travelling/volunteering/looking for new opportunities.
New update: Just moved to Leipzig/Halle, so looking forward to start hosting people again soon! :)
PHILOSOPHY
Anti-capitalist
Anti- pretentious assholes
Pro-trying out new things
Pro- lovely and chilled out people
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience was in Iceland couple of years ago, and soon realised how amazing it was. I´ve always believed that travelling is so dependent on the people you meet, and this is a great way to get to know some awesome people and learn about the culture they are from. I have also CS with my boyfriend Al in various countries in Europe as well as hosted visitors in Sheffield.
Interests
I´m a keen practitioner of people watching, music playing and listening, and sushi making! And I can even do all these at the same time!
Apart from that I like experimenting with baking, taking long walks and cycle rides and drinking nice whisky or gin (I know my limit, I promise).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love jazz, electronic, garage, jungle, dub, reggae, psychedelic rock, trip-hop, funk, hip-hop, soul, world music! And Sheffield´s very own bassline!
I love films but got a particularly soft spot for documentaries, so my latest favourites are Dreamcatcher, Cowspriacy, Beware of Mr. Baker, Anvil- the story of Anvil and Cartel Land. And basically any nature or travel documentary produced by BBC.
I´m terrible at reading books, I open one and then stop reading it after a while because I want to start reading something else, there is clearly a lack of commitment, but I have previously enjoyed Chekhov, Orwell and Huxley. One of my top favourites is also Harry Potter!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydived for a charity called the Snowdrop Project to raise money and awareness about the human trafficking in the UK.
Also, swimming in a hot river in Iceland.
Exploring Europe for 3 months in a van!
And going to my dad´s Estonian smoke sauna at home, then jumping to a lake and drinking a cold beer after always puts a smile to my face.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to swear in Estonian- very useful and it´s very likely that people around you won´t understand what you´re saying so you can bitch as much as you like!
I can also share my skills in vegan baking- and talk about it even longer!
