My name is Maria and I'm 24 years old. The last 6 month I live in Romania where I'm participating in a volunteering project about children. I consider myself quite normal(but really what's the definition of being normal?) and I enjoy meeting new people as I have the opportunity to discuss and exchange opinions. I love pets(especially dogs), I don't smoke and I love listening to music, watching movies and series and reading books. I'm also a collumnist on a greek website where I can express my thoughts about cultural things I admire and make me concern. I enjoy exploring a new city and I don't mind if my host doesn't have time to show me the city as I think one part of travelling is to discover things on your own as well!

It's the best way to travel in a non-expensive way and meet new people. You can stay in a friendly and cozy house and not in a hotel without personality!

Music, Movies, and Books

How can I call one book or one movie as favourite? There are so many that I love! For sure "Demian" of Hermann Hesse and "The stranger" of Albert Camus are two books that influenced me a lot. Also, "The Second sex" by Simone de Beauvoir. I love poetry and the Russians (Dostoevsky,Tolstoy), maybe because I started reading them when I was still a teenager so... Sometimes my romantic soul is waking up and I enjoy "Wuthering Heights".
Favourite films: The perks of being a wallflower, Mommy, Before Sunrise, Control.........
Music: It depend on the mood really. I can enjoy "stupid" music as well as I think sometimes it's necessary! But one of my favourites are Radiohead, The Doors, Lana del rey, Chinawoman, Marina and the diamonds, Sonic Youth, Underground Youth.........

Teach, Learn, Share

In the past I have worked as a private tutor so I teached Modern Greek, History, Philosophy, Literature, Latin and Ancinet Greek. During my volunteering work I have teached English to children and adults. Also, using non formal education I tried to teach to children about different cultures and their history.
