Hey everyone! My name is Marica, but I go by "Ma". I love traveling, exploring cultures, and experiencing life abroad. I'm quiet but friendly, and I'm a pretty chill person. I love hiking, playing guitar, reading, and listening to music. I've lived in Palau, West Virginia, Hawaii, and New Zealand and will be moving to Seattle very soon. My goal is to explore the USA as much as possible for the next few years before setting my sights on international living!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing because travelling to a new place can be intimidating, but being able to spend time with friendly locals whom you can share experiences and stories with makes it so much better. I think it's wonderful for people to be so open and generous with sharing their homes with others - and I want to be a part of that community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My taste in music is eclectic and changes all the time - right now I'm really into Sia, James Bartholomew, and Lennon and Maisy.

Movies: My favorite movie of all time is "White Christmas" - I watch it at least a few times a year. I also love tv shows like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Cosmos".

Books: My alltime favorite book series is Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumping! I recently went to the highest bungee jump in New Zealand - the Nevis Bungee. It was my first "adrenaline adventure", and it was amazing. It's inspired me to plan for more adventures like parasailing, whitewater rafting, and skydiving.

Teach, Learn, Share

Many people ask about my home country, Palau. Not a lot of people have heard of it (it's a really small country), so I love sharing my experience of Palau and hopefully inspiring people to go visit!

I'm no master of the guitar, but I do know a few songs. I'm always happy to have little jam sessions and play some music with people :)

I would love to learn about the places people have been and about their life experiences. I've found that everybody has done fascinating things in their lives, and I love to listen and learn from their experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a friendly person, and I'd love to speak with my hosts and share stories with them. I'm very clean and neat, so I wouldn't get in your way around your house. I'd love to take you out for dinner/drinks or make you dinner at home!
