About Me

Salut everyone! I'm 23 years old and I'm currently studying at the Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz where I also live.
I'm studying Philosophy (minoring in British Culture and Literature) and will be finishing my Bachelor's degree next year. On the side, I work for an organisation that supports people with mental disabilities in participating in everyday life as actively and independently as possible. My job is to look after and care for people of all ages, but also plan activities and trips for them.
Whenever I'm not at uni or working, I love meeting different people from all walks of life, exchanging experiences and ideas, and generally talking about the world, our perception of it, and our existence in it.
I generally like going out, whether it might be a museum, the theatre, or a pub, even though I can be introverted and quiet at times. You know what they say: If you don't challenge yourself, you won't grow! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find couchsurfing to be a wonderful way to travel, because you have the chance to get to know the place you're visiting from the perspective of a local. Just visiting the touristy spots can be incredibly boring and little fulfilling. In addition, you are able to meet people from all over the world. What's not to love?

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music. A safe bet however, is always alternative/ indie rock-pop. I love discovering new artists and bands from all over the world; I'm a sucker for clever lyrics; complex, and interesting (whatever that means) melodies. All time favourites include Bombay Bicycle Club, Mumford and Sons, Bright Eyes, Chet Faker, Lucy Rose, The Smiths, Phoenix, and many more. I'm currently on the looking for new female artists, so I'm open for suggestions actually!
Not a huge movie fan for some reason. I do enjoy going to the cinema from time to time and when I visit my parents, I usually watch a movie or two with them, but I somehow find it hard to concentrate during movies. I also haven't owned a TV for almost 8 years. I prefer reading anyways, so that's alright, I guess ;-)
Unfortunately, I've found it difficult to read as much as I used to when I was younger due to the amount of reading I have to do for uni, but when I do find the time and am able to relax, reading is my absolute favourite thing to do. I enjoy fantasy novels, historic novels, and Jane Austen every year when autumn comes around.
