My name is Marie, and I'm 18 years old. I live in the capital in Norway, Oslo.

I graduated a music school in Oslo a few months ago. My main instrument is guitar, but I also sing and play a bit of the piano. In addition to music, I took all the "normal" subjects, which means that I can study almost everything afterwards. I just got recruited to the military in the airforce in September 2017, so that means I'm having a gap year in between. I really want to travel, explore and make the most out of it.

On my spare time, I play guitar and write my own songs. My friend and I sing together in a duo, and we play concerts around Oslo every now and then. When I'm not busy with homework, I also love hanging out with friends and doing photography. I'm also interested in politics, and especially animal welfare.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's an amazing opportunity to meet people and build a network all across the world. It also sounds like a lot of fun to get to know local people, so that I can learn more about the culture in the country I'm visiting. When I'm out traveling, I would prefer to spend money on experiences rather than expensive hotels, so I would be forever grateful to anyone who would welcome me into their home.
