ABOUT ME

I'm upbeat and colorful. I love to explore, that applies both to places and streets I have never been to in my own city (Amsterdam) as to traveling the world. I seek adventures in every day life.

I have a broad interest in subjects like creativity, psychology, start up culture, art, marketing, mind fullness and so on. I love exploring all those subjects by reading about it and talking to others. When I have to tackle challenges in live I mix all those things together to find my own fresh and new solutions.

I have my own company: Bureau Play. I develop products and services that turn daily life into a playground. I have a background as a personal coach and business consultant. In Bureau Play I combine that experience with my creativity.

I can be very energetic and social but I also love and need quiet and alone time.

PHILOSOPHY

You are the boss of how you perceive your life. Enjoy all the good (especially the little things, there are so many of them), change the things you don't want one step at a time.

I love the quote of Marcel Proust: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."

And I believe in the power of sharing. I'm active in the sharing community in the Netherlands.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm totally new to couchsurfing. I did do some couchsurfing while I was traveling the USA but not via this website. I haven't hosted yet and since I live together in a really small house I'm not sure if that woud work. But I will love to find out. For now it's a completely new adventure for me to land on somebody's coach via this site. An adventure I am very much looking forward to.

Interests

I love seeing new things and meeting new people. One of my favorite things is going to specialty coffee bars and writing (blogs etc). The subject I really like talking about is how we can play more in life (next to work or in work) and how that benefits our life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly art house movies. I go to the cinema regularly. Sometimes every week but at least every month.

Once in a while I love to bury myself in my couch and watch a whole season of a series like Mad Men, The Wire, Treme and my guilty pleasure Nashville.

Music I listen the most to I would describe as indie folk. But I also love hiphop, electro, funk, indie rock and everything else you can dance to.

I have a talent for finding small attractive solutions for all kinds of problems. I like to brainstorm about social business ideas. I have a broad network in the Netherlands where I love to connect you with.
