About Me

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. I think it’s in my basement, let me go upstairs and check.

I need a constant change, different places, people, situations.
When I don't know what I feel, my stomach tells me.
I sing all the time.
When I was 9, I had a philosophical phase of contemplating about the meaning of life. It passed soon when I discovered boys.
My first book was Key around my neck and my first CD Alanis Morisette Jagged Little Pill.
I have 7 boxes of memories. I don't remember 75% of it.
I can't say NO to parties, people and nature.
When I discover amazing lyrics, see wonderful art or read a great book, I cry. I also cry when I'm extremely happy...which is often.
I was born as the smallest baby in the hospital. Consequently, I got my name by a Croatian song "Marijana, sweet petite Marijana". Now I'm 182cm.
I never wear undershirts and belts.
I'm a cat person. But I have a dog.
The craziest place I worked in was Bodycasting Studio in Brighton. Castings of private parts.
I'm addicted to costume parties and climbing trees.
I'm a sucker for motivational quotes.
Every time I said Never!, I did it. I don't say Never! anymore...
I love weird and absurd facts. Consequently, I'm an expert at googling.
I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. My parents know what I should be when I grow up.
I don't listen to my parents.
I tried a normal, average life once and realized it's not for me.

Not being aware of scientists "proving" it cannot fly, the bumblebee succeeds under "the power of its own ignorance"
"Don't fear god, Don't worry about death; What is good is easy to get, and What is terrible is easy to endure"
"It has happened to all of us: one day, one ordinary day when we imagine we're making our routine rounds in the world with ticket stubs and tobacco shreds in our pockets, our heads full of news items, traffic noise, troublesome monologues, we suddenly realize we are already someplace else, that we are not actually where our feet have taken us."
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I surfed and hosted many many times. My record was this amazing experience of hosting 55 people in two and half weeks in my summer house and the most people staying at the house at the same time was 26.

people, nature, writing, drawing, painting, graphic design, photography, partying, singing, dancing, climbing trees, costume parties, love, love, love

Music, Movies & Books

I read too many books to remember them.
T. Prattchet, D. Adams, Kafka, Murakami, Marquez, Hemingway, Dostojevski, random books about the country I am travelling at a certain moment
I hate P. Coehlo. You should hate him too.
I'm a Cyborg but it's OK, T. Burton, Wes Anderson, Almodovar, Cohen, Boyhood, Spirited Away, Akira, Howl's Moving castle, Paprika, Wild Tales, Ghost in a shell, again too many movies
Music depends on the mood, time of the day, month, year, people I am with, people I am recently with, place I am in, places I've been, moon stages and everything else
I guess I'm not very good with names...

One Amazing Thing I've Done

saved a dog by smuggling it for months through different countries by hitchhiking, now she lives happy, healthy and calm life with my parents
hitchhiked dressed as Santa Claus for a month (FB Hitchhiker's guide to Christmas)
getting kidnapped on a horse. twice. (obviously it was a happy ending)
lived on a beach and in a jungle in India
met amazing amount of interesting people on the way

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is what I love the most. So please teach me. Anything new is valuable.
I can share my experiences in living in different countries, hitch hiking as a solo girl, travelling with a dog and I am sure many more that doesnt come up to my mind at the moment.
