About Me

Hello everyone! :) My name is Marina and I am a tennis coach from NYC, USA. I enjoy dancing, painting, sharing meaningful conversations with people, and I LOVE to travel!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At this moment (August 2015) I am traveling to Italy for a dance workshop and looking for hosts in Rome and Florence! I decided to try the Couchsurfing experience instead of renting a room/apt, as a really good friend of mine had some amazing experiences with it, and I'm really looking for a cultural exchange and a genuine feel of Italy with the locals :) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and I can only hope to return the favor in NYC or Belgrade at some point!

Interests

At all times I carry 3-4 books in my purse - usually related to psychology, spirituality, coaching, art, art therapy, healing, dance, sacred feminine...no wonder it's always so heavy :) I also love to draw, paint, dance, spend time in NYC's wonderful parks in introspective moments. But mind you, I also like to meet up with friends in cafes and share a good chat! My crazy clubbing days are sort of behind me lol, but every once in a while I do enjoy hitting the club dance floor and letting it go! :) Aside from being a tennis coach, I am particularly interested in combining my coaching and psychology skills and becoming a sports psychologist. I am a very good listener and I am genuinely interested in people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love this quote:

"Thinking too much does not really help. The best minds are the clear minds. Finding the formula of success is almost a never-ending maze. It has to be simple. It has to be clear. It has to involve a lot of work. You have to be instinctive. You have to feel it with your body; the mind needs to be almost blank. Or else, the doubts kick in. And the fear. You need to learn to stay centered and to block out the fear and the doubt."
