explore the world in the most open minded way as possible
I am chill and a relaxed.
Really like being 'outside'.
I love exploring culture: art museums, indie concerts and good vegetarian food. The gritty parts of the city amuse me the most: taking public transport and 'hole in the wall' places amuse me. My demeanor is self composed and relaxed. I am still energetic enough to avoid apathy. New cities make me feel invigorated and I have a positive energy through out my states of mind. People's stories, conversations, and backgrounds, intrigue me and I tend to be more of a listener than a talker at first. Most of my travels have been in the Midwest, at least independently, with some family trips to the East Coast thrown in. At this point, between working and thinking about going back to college, my life feels pretty "open" but not quite as established as most people's. With that being said, this is a curious and adventurous part of my life.
Life is a buffet, eat like a pig! Always Love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I could host, but have not yet, I certainly am open to it and can certainly hang out. I will provide you with good company and try to make some good conversations and take you to social events.
My main use for this site is to surf and share adventures! Let's explore new parts of the city together..
Couch surf #1 stayed with Justin in Chicago- things went pretty smoothly The best part being and and about with people, seeing plays and going to dinner parties, baking cookies etc. .
#2 Lang in Philadelphia- one of the best Christmas eves I have spent in a while. We checked out an exhibit on Prohibition, rode in the snow, checked out unique food, had strong coffee, and had a very merry time on our bicycles!
3# Eric in Portland, always have a relaxing time with him. We made Portlandia refs, explore Christmas time parties, went out for St Patrick Day Madness, and had a very lovely hike near Mt. Multnomah.
... meet some great fiends in Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, and Austin through couch surfing, I can see its appeal as a socialization tool now.
I like conversations that are meaningful, if not deep, then amusing or comical. I like nature and reflect on it. Some of my happiest moments are riding my bicycle around town and exploring places with someone new. I keep a minimalistic lifestyle and mindset, rarely drink alcohol or caffeine. I am fascinated by people, but tend to investigate with my listening skills first, believe me I am paying attention. Eating socially is one of my favorite things do, food share! Nature areas also amuse me as well, parks, gardens, conservatories, woods, etc make me feel delighted! If you are into intellectual curiosities or academic interests, we should talk. Alternative political ideologies (some socialism and anarchism) kind of amuse me as well, but do not follow a lot of politics myself. Lately I have been interested in making a collaborative art, collages etc! I also like to share music playlists with people.
Music, Movies, and Books
(Indie pop/ rock and some avant-garde things.)
Books: many, but prefer neurotic French and Spanish writers from the 19th century reflective "stream of consciousness writing",Borges.. etc.
NON-fiction- philosophy (having to do with "continental"),middle eastern philo. social/ critical theory, and general books on cognitive science and physics. Since I worked at a library, I really enjoyed picking up random books a lot. (most of my joys have been finding honest history books)
Movies: Yeah they are okay, I like independent films and tend to watch movies socially. Sometimes a random documentary off of Netflix works for me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am often awestruck at random acts of kindness. Since moving to cosmopolitan cities, it has been meaningful and delightful to meet such a diverse group of people, it is indeed an amazing experience as a whole. I am open to a single "amazing" experience in my lifetime still.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about philosophical topics, and we can explore opinions on the state of things. I can share my very limited travel stories around and share introspective thoughts!
Teach me what fascinates you. Perhaps teach me your life story/ and or philosophy. (If you know a language besides English, I would particularly love to learn that.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
