To soak up the sounds and sights of Nashville TN and to be a positive musical street performer
Mark is funny they'd say. They would accuse me of very easy-going and prone to long bouts of listening. They might say I play a mean guitar and that I know how to make my own good time in almost any situation.
My personal philosophy is to increase health in myself and all things as much as possible. I study esoteric Christianity and practice tolerance in all scenarios.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to cook for people, listen and tell stories with people. I like to play music and sing along in all types of genres and styles.
Very limited formal couchsurfing experience. I have traveled extensively for the last four years though and have learned the etiquette of being a good host and surfer.
I am a very good street performer. I love catering improvisational music to people as they pass by or stop to listen. I play the 6-string electric and acoustic guitar and am a student of many styles. I give guitar lessons and write grants for non-profit organizations in Michigan. I love travelling and meeting new people and making dinners and getting to hear new stories. I have been accused of being a storyteller myself on more than one occasion, love telling stories. I follow art of all kinds, and enjoy discussing all matters spiritual and health related.
Music, Movies, and Books
Magnolia, Grand Budapest Hotel, Jack White, Phish, and...say...Franny and Zooey.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing the Rocky Mountains for the first time as a 19 year old. Standing on the bow of a deep sea fishing vessel gripping the railing will all my might while we traveled out to sea through huge waves and whipping wind and rain; so exhilarating. Experiencing an amazing 3D film with a one-hundred person live choir last year in a famous NYC Cathedral during a conference called "Ideas City." Truly amazing experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a guitar teacher first and foremost. I absolutely love to teach guitar. I've got about four lessons that I have created throughout the last decade or so and have nothing but patience and strong beliefs behind each lesson. I love finding out the passions and expertise of new friends and have learned how find almost everything that I hear relevant. I have developed an understanding of how to connect with the story of any profession or hobby and how to cultivate genuine interest as a student. This is why I have had great experiences and exchanges traveling the last few years. I share humorous stories quite well I am told. I am shy about sharing my music in small groups unless everyone knows the song or is playing an instrument. I love to make meals to share. Being brought up by a nurse, I am not grossed out by anything, so I tend to be happy cleaning bathrooms and drains and such.
