About Me

I'm a Canadian living in Scotland. I was brought here through family heritage and the fact that this place is obviously amazing. This is my third tour here in ten years. I leave, but always seem to come back.

I love all things life. There is nothing better than exploring places and people. The right company can make any situation a memorable one. I try to be a component of that theory.

I want to travel, absorb history, make new friends and do it all with a ridiculous smile on my face. Am up for experiencing most things at least once, whether it be a rare dish or jumping out of a plane (preferably with a parachute).

I'm an avid reader and have a major adoration for music, science, philosophy and several other subjects.

If not, I can impress with my ability to recite Pi to the 60th decimal. I say impress. I mean, eye roll.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to British Columbia, Canada back in 2009 for a little adventure and change of environment (which was a fantastic idea!). Knowing that my adoration of a TV show, Smallville, was being filmed in the Vancouver area, I mapped out all the exterior filming spots to get a basic look at the sights of where the magic happened.. from a distance anyway.

After tracking down the farm used in the show, I spent a few hours with the owners of the actual property when filming was on hiatus. They were super people (pun intended) and spent hours on stories of their lives. The day was brilliant, but not as much so as the information I was given before ending the tour - the address of the actual Warner Bros. set in the city.

So, the next day I found the set, (entirely closed off from the public for obvious reasons) drove up to the main gate to get a glimpse and possibly a tour inside... to which the security guard plainly stated NO CHANCE YOURE GETTING IN HERE. CLOSED SET.

Shitty. But as you know im not the kind of person to accept that sort of backchat.

Next day, drove back up to the gate. Different security guard, same answer. YOURE NOT GETTING IN.

For f*** sake!

What do you think I did next? YEP, I went back a third day... but this time, a third security guard didnt give the same response, but rather YOURE NOT GETTING IN HERE. CLOSED SET. THE ONLY WAY YOURE GETTING PAST THIS GATE, IS IF YOU WORK HERE!

I looked him dead in the eye, smiled and said IS THAT ALL??

A week later, I found the appropriate methods and applied to the show as a set assistant.

LONG STORY SHORT - I got hired on to work on the show. HAH!

There are too many stories to tell about once I was actually working there, but the best was when I was introduced to the last security guard I had encountered, and as hes shaking my hand, he is looking at me with this look as if he knows me (from 10 days earlier no doubt). So grinning from ear to ear, I kind of laugh and say YOU DONT RECOGNIZE ME DO YOU?? IM THE GUY YOU TOLD LAST WEEK THAT THE ONLY WAY I WAS GETTING THROUGH THAT GATE, WAS IF I WORKED HERE.

WELL, HERE I AM. :D
