I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin. I went to Brigham Young University in Utah for my undergrad in chemical engineering, and I'm about to begin my PhD. program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. (my lease doesn't begin until August 31st, but orientation starts on August 19th, so I'm looking for a place to sleep during those 13 days.) I'm engaged to Ashlee, and we'll get married in October. She's still in Utah working as a hospital lab technician, so we're doing long distance right now. My parents live in China, so I've been to Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Suzuo. I lived in Peru for 2 years as an LDS missionary, so I am fluent in spanich.

I love all sports and being active. My favorites are tennis, basketball, and soccer, but I love everything. I also enjoy reading, video games, and food (especially cheese). I'm a very chill person with an active sense of humor.

My favorite music is generally pretty chill, like Coldplay, Jack Johnson, and One Republic, but I also enjoy Latin music (especially Macaco, a band from Barcelona) and Gnarls Barkley. I also play the piano and bassoon very well, and I own a bassoon. As for movies, my favorite genre is comedy, although I prefer the humor to be pretty clean. My favorite books are either classics like A Tale of Two Cities or sci-fi/fantasy like the Dresden Files or anything by Brandon Sanderson.
