About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, save the world, and use as many clichés as is humanly possible! I want to have an adventure, meet new people, to immerse myself in a new culture; sights, smells, sounds and tastes, and have a great time while i do it!

ABOUT ME

From the humble age of 4 I have aspired to be a couchsurfer (aside from a brief period of being a wizard); one of those dashing, daring souls who galavants across the globe in search of what the simple comforts of home cannot offer. How joyous it is to see a dream come to fruition! I would hope to be described as amiable, easy going and always ready to learn new things and broaden my mind, through personal experiences and those shared by others. I live the student life of as little work and as much fun (often alcohol related) as possible, and also have a passion for hiking in the great outdoors. It's great to meet new people - everyone has something to give, a story to tell, and some snippet of wisdom to impart, and i love to be there to share in it. It is my ambition to become a surgeon, and i have every intention of spending time overseas in countries stricken by disaster and who need help the most. If you want to know me better we'll just have to meet up, right?

PHILOSOPHY

Live to learn, to better appreciate the beauty and glory of all life has to offer. Live without regrets - you can't change the past, nor predict the repercussions of a changed event, so don't worry! See the bright side, be thankful for what you've got but always strive for more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to host, and will do my best to help people get the most out of their travels. I also have big plans to see more of this wonderful planet, an issue where i might need a little assistance...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to experience couch surfing first hand, but have heard great things from friends. I've also been out with hosts of a friend, who showed me what a great service couchsurfers can be to one another in travelling.

Interests

Already alluded to some of these but here goes:
Socialising - pubs, clubs, cinemas, chilled out nights in with friends (the last 2 words are the jist of it)
Hiking
Travelling
Studying (!) shocking perhaps but i love my subject!
Reading
Music - a strange mix of brass, classical, metal and altogether more mainstream affairs

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm sure i've answered most of this already, ah the joys of not reading the questions first. I suppose thrillers, historical fiction and the like, though i am known to also enjoy the likes of Moulin Rouge...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a weekend on my Tibetan friend's family farm in the depths of winter to celebrate his grandmother's 80th. Bitterly cold and unforgiving, the place couldn't be more opposite to the family and friends who welcomed me as one of their own and shared a very precious and quickly disappearing way of life with me. I had horrendous diarrhoea for the whole thing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am renowned for the random selection of knowledge crammed into my head and that dribbles out through my mouth at random, unexpected intervals. I guarantee you will leave having learned some (most likely useless) piece of mildly interesting information about the would around you! I suppose i could also teach you some anatomy or other medically related shiz...

Countries I’ve Visited

Mozambique, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey
