About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around Europe and meet some cool people

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going Canadian guy; spent most of my life in Ontario then studied 2 years in Europe, got hooked on travelling and learning about new cultures. I just got a new job in Melbourne, Australia and hope to be hosting there once I get set up. I'm also an active guy and love most outdoor sports.

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Had some great couchsurfing experiences the past two summers while travelling in Europe. Finally started hosting in Scotland once I got a big enough place and really enjoyed meeting people from around the world!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

June 2011: 3 nights in Austria July 2011: 10 days in Slovenia, 8 days in Belgium (at a friend's flat) September 2011: 7 days in Gent, Belgium January - March 2012: housemates and I have hosted 4 people so far; have enjoyed having all of them over!

Interests

Fooood. I think it's a really important part of life. I'm not a stellar cook, but I love to share meals and learn new recipes.

My largest hobby for the last 4 years has been climbing. I also love almost anything to do with water: swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, water-skiing or even just running through a sprinkler on a hot summer day. Recently been running and biking when I have time and just started doing some yoga.

Music, Movies & Books

Love watching movies, but for some reason am useless at remembering actors/actress' names or what movies they've been in. Pretty easy to please in terms of music; into most rock/indie/alternative. Big fan of acoustic guitars around a campfire and live music in general. Enjoy a good book, but rarely read while studying.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Did a scuba diving course in the south of France last summer - amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

Love to learn. Teach me something!

I'm happy to help you with your English as I just finished a 2 year program with 20 classmates from around the world and varying levels of English. I also enjoy teaching people basic climbing techniques.

Countries I've Visited

Austria, Belize, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Italy, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I've Lived In

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Honduras, New Zealand, Sweden, United Kingdom
