About Me

Paint the world red!

Love traveling, love meeting new people, LOVE learning. Really trying to have as many new experiences as possible.

I'm outgoing, fun, polite and, like everyone here, have a passion for seeing new places.

I'm pretty active and outdoorsy. A lot of hiking, some biking, scuba, climbing, snowboarding and all that stuff. And I love a drink or two at the end of it all.

It used to be "Work hard, play hard, die happy",but since I turned 30, the "play hard" has become less do-able :(
So now I simply want to be happy and help others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hosted a lot in Korea. Now I'm surfing in Africa. I've also started joining activities and gatherings and am meeting the coolest people ever.

So far, so good. I've had a couple of, uh, 'interesting' people stay with me. Lol. But it's all part of the experience.

New places, new people, new cultures, new experiences, old friends, old travel journals.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After two years in a village in the Japanese mountains, I traveled home by land and sea. I started with a 2 day boat to China, traveled there and Mongolia. Up in Russia I took an 87 hour train to Moscow. That was interesting. And then through Belarus, Poland, Germany, etc and finally back to Ireland. It was fascinating to travel from the far east to western Europe and see everything: faces, food, architecture, landscape, etc. change gradually from Asian to (very) white.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught English in Thailand, Japan, Korea and Peru. If you have any questions about finding work, working, or living in these countries, send me a message and I'll help you out.
