ABOUT ME
I Studied economics in Hamburg. Always traveled a lot between semesters and wanted to travel for a longer time, so I left, together with a friend, after my bachelor.
It has been an amazing experience in Asia, even though I sometimes missed my (then)girlfriend, friends, family and various hobbies I participated in.
We started in Jakarta, Indonesia with a stopover in Dubai. More different societies could hardly have been possible. Since then we have been to Malaysia (peninsular and Borneo), Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia for about a month each and then went to New Zealand for two months.
Then I was back in Hamburg for 3 months and then in Japan for 3 months as well.
I'm a rather quiet person and I hope pleasant to be around=)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I have only been surfing, because my then-flatmates in my hometown unfortunately were against hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a lot of movies, a lot of music and a lot of books. Though regretfully I now read books much less compared to when I was younger. Most time spent reading is now in front of the computer.
The last book I read was Wool by Hugh Howey. Amazing!
Favorite movies include Memento, Garden State and In Bruges, but are really too many to name all.
I listen to all kinds of music. Punkrock (Rise Against) to electronic/ambient (Blackmill) to Metal (In Flames) to Rap (CunninLynguists) to Indie (Woodkid) to name a few..
Music is very important to me and I like to take my time to just listen without doing anything else.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Caving on Borneo.
Had no idea what to expect and am a bit afraid of water. 5 minutes in I had to swim for the first time in muddy cave water and a bit later even dive under a rock underground. That took a lot of willpower. The "guide" who has had 3 beer prior to going into the cave saying "hopefully everyone will be alright" did not make things easier.
For a lot of people it would probably not have been a big deal, but I felt quite different arriving back in the camp.
Things that you would never do if you knew what happened beforehand, but are glad to have done afterwards are always amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a bit about photography, but its also a topic I would love to learn more about. I know better about the technical aspects than about composition, even though I think the latter is more important.
I am of course very happy to teach people some German and learn about your native language, whichever it is!
