About Me

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
So much truth in one sentence…

Hello there!

I’m a young animal and nature lover, studying veterinary in northern Spain and ready to travel and meet new people!

Right now most of my time is spent in the library and the vet hospital, I love veterinary medicine, but other degrees always stay in the back of my mind such marine biology or environmental science, I´ll grab books of these interests every time I have time off.

Since I live in Galicia, Spain biggest secret treasure, my goal is to learn how to properly surf, we have pretty good waves here… so big effort going into that, I love most outdoor sports, longboard always on my shelf, hiking and climbing are big ones too.

I´m not a big fan of social media, only use instagram to check out Paul Nicklen and other big photographers and share from time to time climate change or world injustices facts/videos and hope for someone to watch them...

I like people who actually turn their ideas into action, go out to the streets and protest for what they believe in without staying on the lazy thought of one person can´t change anything. I´m from Madrid and the city couldn´t look brighter or more alive than when there are marches and people filling the streets, fighting for a cause

I like open minded people and seeing the beauty in the difference of all human beings and our opinions and how we can conect despite of this. I’m always down to have debates about the controversies of our world and our societies.

Live music, so important for me... Madrid has some of the best street artists and musicians I have ever seen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Led Zeppelin, GnR, Aerosmith, Elton John, The Beatles... also love Jazz!
Whats going on by 4 non blondes will put my energy up in no time.

I like movies in their original version, doesn´t matter the language, subtitles were invented for a reason!some of my favorites that I recommend to everyone: Captain fantastic (nope, not a a marvel movie); into the wild; life is beautiful, the green book, Okja...

Books: The four agreements; Guns, Germs and Steel; Peaceful warrior. Also like some spanish old poetry.

But that´s today! we´ll see tomorrow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the end of every school year I try to travel or take an internship with animals, ideally not domestic. Last summer I had the experience of a lifetime, I had the pleasure to be admitted for an internship in the wilderness of British Columbia, to study the bioacoustics of whales (orca, humpbacks and fin whales specially) I camped in a remote island for almost three months falling asleep to the sound of these majestic creatures and having some unexpected encounters with wild bears and wolves.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like people who make me think and conversations that change my mind and open new perspectives. I´m always down to hear your stories and teach you anything about whales!
I´ll be more that happy to share any of the hundreds of stories I got from Canada, but just a warning… once I start talking about orcas is pretty hard to shut me up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing all my experiences and hacks I learned while backpacking Europe or traveling around southeast Asia with my friends and people I meet along the road; I also love cooking and I would love to share any of my vegan recipes and maybe cook for you guys!
