Hi nice to meet you, my name is Marty. I'm an Englishman living in and working in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China as an English Teacher. I have lived in China for 4 years now.I would say I have had an interesting life so far!I can get bored quite quickly, which is why I have had 6 careers and about 60 jobs, I like adventure and experiencing new life experiences. I would describe my personality as honest, friendly, trustworthy, reliable, kind,considerate, open minded and adventurous. And as I am being honest!! I can get a little impatient at times, I hate queuing and traffic jams!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well I love travelling, I have been to over 70 countries, and like to experience life in other countries from the perspective of a local. Which is why I also do volunteering work like wwoofing and workaway. I like making friends from different countries and cultures and I am a very sociable person.

I like a variety of music, I normally listen to music based on my mood! It could be chill out, Jazz, 60s, 80s, world music, rock or pop. Favorite movies are Shawshank redemption, Pulp[ fiction, Wizard of OZ, Breakfast at Tiffanys. TV loved Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Dexter, Homeland, classic comedies everybody loves raymond, King of queens, green wing, peep show. Books, I liked the Rome series, I had a phase, when I couldn't stop reading, but now,just read occasionally, I like to read a paper everyday, when I am in the UK
