Hi! My name is Masha :)

I am communicative and people-places curious individual. Sincere, direct and like to receive the same treatment :).

Love studying, expanding my interests, discovering new places, music, films, writers, life perspectives.

What I expect from meeting new people? Life is short, and we cannot experience indefinite number of sensations on our own, so by interacting with you I hope to 'collect' your experiences and offer you my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very willing to meet up somewhere in the city, to show you around and take you to my fav local cafes/bars/restaurants. If you need someone to visit museums and galleries, I am usually very into all of the artsy stuff around Vienna. Great company for flea markets :D City bicycle rides - take me with you :).

For sleep overs (real hosting) it really depends on the part of the year, as I often have guests from Serbia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a couple of great people in Belgrade via CS...Then did not use it for years, but I want to get back to it!

Interests

I currently doing my PhD thesis in Vienna (immunology). I enjoy science because I can use my creativity, some new things are always coming up - it is a field which is always changing, evolving and I like learning new things. It is never boring, it is like an endless hole, with no clue if you're ever going to hit the bottom :) Alice in Wonderland!

In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies (Wenders, Almodovar favorite!), going out with friends (midday coffees are my favorite)... Love reading about lives of painters like Kahlo, Chagal...Love visiting galleries. Love discovering new streets, shops, cafes, building decorations, posters, graffiti.

Traveling!! My mother was a hitch-hiker in her younger days, and I think I inherited the same passion for traveling, my constant need to be somewhere else sometimes frightens me :) Things I like to observe the most while visiting different places are behavior of locals in public transport, streets, houses, cafes; children; customs, food...

Music, Movies, and Books

-Wim Wenders movies, Volver, All about my mother, The Dead Poets Society, Amadeus, recently have a growing interest in korean and nordic movies.

- Books...favorite Gabriel Garcia Marques, pretty much everything he wrote. serbian writers and poets (Pekic, Crnjanski...). Love Michel Houellebecq and his nihilism.

- Rock, blues, classic,...punk. I am a serious case of musical omnivore :D
