Hello :)
My name is Matheus Charao de Carvalho. I grew up and spent all my life in Brazil. After I finished high school last year, I decided to take a gap year before going to college. That's when I ended up volunteering to work with children and young adults with additional support needs here in Scotland. So far it has been an amazing experience meeting and working with people from all around the world. This feeling just made me want to travel more! That`s why I try to discover new places and met new people every chance I get.

I`m 19 years old, interested in close up magic and trying to figure out my vocation. Always trying to keep an open mind to get the most from each experience. Unfortunately I`m not verified on Couchsurfing. If that worries you I`m open to have a Skype conversation beforehand or even send a picture of my passport :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When you`re a student and a volunteer money can be a problem when travelling. Even with many things being cheaper here than in Brazil, buying flight and bus tickets and also having to book hostels can reduce a lot your possibilities. I don`t want money to stop me from getting the most out of this year. That`s why I`m on couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Don`t have any specific tastes. For movies I would say any with a good direction and photography. For music I`m probably more down to Reggae, MPB and any good chill songs. Among the books I read I would chose Life of Pi, Harry Potter, the Hunger Games trilogy and the Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent 4 days camping in a village in Peru and hiking a 4.000 m mountain, trying to reach the snowy peak.

I am open to help in any house cleaning needed. Also repairing, even though I don`t understand much of it hahah

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe I have a good view of what`s going on currently in Brazil`s politics but of course that might not be that interesting for all. Overall I`m open to share everything I`ve learned and all the experiences I`ve been through so far :)
