I've lived in Tucson, AZ most of my life, aside from the 4 years that I was stationed in San Diego, CA during my time in the Navy. I was recently laid off from my job, so in my attempt to find the positive in it, I decided this was a prime time to do something ive always wanted to do and explore this great country of ours. I'm excited and nervous, but extremely optimistic.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

So i'm taking the next 7-10 months to travel the country. Initially It was going to be on foot, but ive switched it up to using a Bicycle. I have a trailer that hooks up to my bike for all my gear. In between cities im camping, but this seems like a great outlet to meet some cool people during my travels. (getting a hot shower is another perk :P) This is my first time using this, so I don't have any references yet, but if there is anything I can do to make you feel more comfortable with me, let me know.

Intereses

More specifically about me. Im a pretty laid back guy, I love nature so this is a really exciting prospect for me. I prefer small social gatherings with friends over partying, a good bar/pub over a club, and a tasty beer over wine/liquor. I have a chocolate lab that will be staying with my dad as I travel, and she is pretty much the best dog ever. Im open to try new things, so if you're willing to show me around your city, im game!

Música, películas y libros

I listen to a lot of indie rock, some of my favorite bands:

Chvrches, Explosions in the sky, Tegan and sara, M83, that kinda stuff. however I have been listening to a lot of hip hop and have a soft spot for catchy pop songs. All in all i'm pretty open to anything.

I read a lot of science fiction/fantasy. Im a bit of a nerd that way. some of my favorite authors are:

Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan, Patrick Rothfuss, Joe Abercrombie, George R.R. Martin.

For movies ill watch anything and everything. Even the bad ones. I love it all. I really like movies that mess with your head though like Fight Club, Memento, Donny Darko, Old Boy, etc.

Well I like to think that this trip is the start to something amazing! Aside from that I got to visit some awesome countries during my time in the navy such as:

Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand Dubai, India.

Needless to say I love to travel (especially when its free!)

I like to think i'm good company. I can cook a bit, can buy my own food, always clean up after myself, and am very respectful of rules and boundaries. My goal is not just to find a place to sleep for the night, but to make some amazing friends that I will stay in contact with.
