Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Swimming in the teaming seas of the world's many ecoregions and learning what I can from the plants and the people of those places
ABOUT ME
I'm a graduate student in aquatic ecology at the University of Idaho, where I'm developing research questions related to the influence of marine-derived nutrients on the food web structure and restoration of rivers and streams.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is a beautiful, complex, and diverse mixture of the real, ethereal, and magical. The best thing we can do is learn to appreciate the complexity, understand what we can, and accept that we will never grasp it all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couch surfed in Denmark and Germany and the US. Haven't personally hosted yet (currently living in a partially finished tiny house on wheels!), but I have hung out with surfers staying with friends in Missoula, MT.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: American folk music, some indie stuff, and anything that makes you smile :)
Books: Beat Generation, Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Steinbeck, William Least Heat Moon, Thoreau, Aldo Leopold, John G. Neihardt, and anything about the prairie landscape.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen the sun rise over the prairie from the sawtooth edge of the Rocky Mountain Front range in Central Montana
Teach, Learn, Share
I might be able to teach you a little bit about the flora, ecology, and environmental issues of the Western United States. I also know how to play the banjo, guitar, and mandolin (though mostly just cowboy chords in all of em...). I'm a big fan of music and love to pass on what little I know and learn whatever I can!
