About Me

I've never been able to sell myself very well, but here goes: I'm a laid-back, easy-going, positive person who is looking to experience more of the world. I've got a good sense of humour, I can be pretty dorky from time to time, and I try not to take life too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently spending the summer adventuring across the USA and would love to add some couchsurfing to the experience!

Interests

Some of the things I like to do: go to the cinema on a regular basis and chat about movies, watch plenty of football (soccer), drink lots of coffee, travel around the world, hang out with my friends, spend time bingeing out on TV shows, read books and other crap on the internet, learn about new subjects and ponder the mysteries of the world, listen to music constantly, play games, go on walks, have beers in the sunshine and generally chill out and have a good time.

I want to try yoga, I want to learn a new language, I want to see some cool spots, discover a new band, see my new favourite film, exercise more, learn an instrument, try new foods, go camping, meet all sorts of people, grasp new cultures and see the world before it's too late!

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to watch as many films as possible and try to make it to the cinema a few times a week. My favourite directors would probably be: Edgar Wright, Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson. Some of my favourite films include: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Jurassic Park, Goodfellas, Rushmore and Dazed & Confused.

I love most music, and definitely believe that there is no such thing as 'guilty pleasures'. Anything from Led Zeppelin, Free, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Galaxie 500, Beach House, Youth Lagoon, Deerhunter, Pavement, Pixies, The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Animal Collective or Tame Impala will do me just fine. Oh and I have a *mild* obsession with The Beatles - if you do too I'll probably be best friends with you forever.

Books I tend to alternate between fiction and non-fiction from all sorts of subjects As long as it's got an interesting hook I'm down. My favourite author is probably Iain Banks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went snorkelling for the first time on Christmas Day off a tiny island in Thailand.

One not so amazing but still interesting thing I've managed to do is break both my wrists on my first snowboarding trip. Funny though?

Teach, Learn, Share

I think the best things to do in life are the simplest: be kind to others, be patient, be fair and be positive. We're all in this together, right?

What I Can Share with Hosts

A love of bad puns. I can cook. I can teach you about science maybe. Probably some other stuff too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, United States
