About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel and see what I can while I can, and meet some interesting people along the way.

ABOUT ME

I live near Adelaide in South Australia and work as a Zookeeper at Monarto Zoo which is a large open range zoo covering over 2500 acres. I usually work with a range on animals including Cheetahs, Lions, Giraffes, Rhinos, etc. Currently I'm living and working at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park near Hythe in Kent, on a six month exchange program. I'm really enjoying my time working here, and also trying to travel and see as much as I can when I get the chance. I'll finish work in October and then will be planning to travel UK and Europe for 4 to 6 weeks before heading home to Australia.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to spend time not enjoying it. Get out and enjoy life while you can! Travel and see the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately as I'm living on site at the zoo I won't be able to offer out my couch while I'm in the UK. However, I'll be more than happy to keep in touch and become a host when I am back in South Australia in 2014. I am keen to meet people interested in catching up or having a travel partner, either for short day trips, generally around the Southeast of England, or for longer trips around the UK and Europe when the timing is right.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a beginner to all of this couch surfing, but it sounds like a great way to meet new friends and help each other out while traveling around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been lucky enough to do some great things while traveling and at home. Working with the animals is extremely rewarding, it's great to be able to build close bonds with the animals and also help with their species conservation through education and awareness (not many people could say the pat Cheetahs every day ;) ). While traveling I've seen some amazing places, Cape Town, the Fiords in New Zealand are a couple that come to mind as well as many places in Australia. Hopefully will see some amazing sights while I'm in the UK and Europe :)
