Hey Everyone!

My name is Matt and I'm going to be embarking on a solo backpacking trip through South East Asia from January 2016 - April 2016. Also, taking part in the Mongol Rally (you know you want to Google it) with an old friend of mine, come July 2016. If you'd like to donate to the charity we are raising money for by taking part in this, please let me know!

Really hoping that I can meet up with some of you super cool people along the way. I promise to supply a bottle or two of your desired poison or anything else that you may desire to express my gratitude (within reason, please, as I'll be on a budget)!

I am a Media/Marketing professional working in NYC who is tired of the hamster wheel of the office life, at the moment. I'm a huge lover of traveling and I am in serious need of some exploration.

I have never couch surfed before but looking forward to being EXACTLY the kind of guest you need me to be.

Reading, music, delicious food, trying new things, meeting new people, philosophy, traveling (obviously), being outside of my comfort zone. In general, I just want to try everything and have a good time, making new friends all along the way. Good vibes, as they say.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic rock, blues, r&b, rap, progressive house - literally everything accept country music and heavy metal (sorry!). I have spent the last 2 years in NYC going to at least 2 or 3 concerts a month so I'm a bit of a music nerd. I read non-stop and have a bit of a problem with buying books online, always buy faster than I can read. Current read: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. So good - for those philosophy buffs. Movies: Too many to list - I'll take a Tarantino film over a transformers or marvel blockbuster any day.

Really though, I'm happy to help you out in any way possible. I speak English fluently, so I am happy to chat with you and help you with anything along those lines. Also, as I mentioned in my about me section, I'd be glad to buy a bottle or two of anything you like to drink. This is my first time doing anything like this, so please let me know if there is anything else commonly offered!
