ABOUT ME

My name is Matthew Gonzales. I currently live in Long Beach, CA, and go to CSU Long Beach where I study literature. I consider myself a fun and interesting person with a desire to meet new and interesting people and experience new things. I also love to read and talk about literature, art, poetry, and music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In my youth, I used to travel a lot in a band and I therefore have plenty of couchsurfing experience. Now that I don't have a band or a microphone to ask for a place to stay, I need a new way to connect and find people that would be willing to let me crash on their couch when travelling. I understand how expensive travelling can be so of course I would love to host people at my apt in Long Beach as well. I also look forward to meeting and conversing with new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to play in bands when I was younger, and when we would tour (mostly up and down the west coast), we would always stay at the home or apartment of someone who had come to our show. I know what a great experience it can be to make new friends this way and to get to know interesting people from different areas. I am also familiar with the etiquette of staying at someone's apartment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite scenes ever, I saw while driving across the Colorado Rockies in the middle of the night. Coming down from the mountain face and seeing an empty expanse of snow-covered land that was faintly glowing blue seemed to me to be extraordinarily beautiful
