ABOUT ME

Chinese martial arts are my passion. I hope to travel and communicate with people in ways governed by the principles of dance and movement--metaphorically and concretely. I am a subtle hedonist who believes that personal joy requires a certain degree of communal joy. True pleasure is not self-absorbed and without discipline.

PHILOSOPHY

I spin and hop and seek beauty. I believe that our cities and our relationships could be so much prettier if we didn't always attach ourselves to abstractions such as "progress" and "order." But what would we have without some perceptual "ordering" of things and their functions? Cultureless, colorless, empty? So I live to explore the many subjective truths as best I can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I have yet to participate in this project I am uncertain what to do. I really like the idea of this and I want to generate greater global friendships and help facilitate the exchange of beautiful ideas. I also really like to cook for my hosts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Canyonlands National Park in Utah: simply the most magical and amazing place I've been fortunate enough to see.

Teach, Learn, Share

Tai chi, qigong, baking skills, Chinese medicine--Five-Element Theory, Zero-Balancing bodywork. I also have a degree in religious studies for whatever that is worth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can do bodywork and acupressure and give lots of good health advice. I can also bake and cook.
