I'm Max, a full-time professional photographer with a deep passion for urban night photography, architecture and design. After a break in the pandemic, I'm excited to log back into Couchsurfing.

I'm a creative and outgoing individual who has traveled and moved around a lot, and studied across 5 countries (Germany, Scotland, Australia, Poland, China). My adventurous spirit drives me to explore cities and nature, meet new people, and experience different cultures. I've formed lifelong friendships through Couchsurfing and am grateful for the incredible experiences it has brought me.

Beyond photography, I'm passionate about technology, startups and outdoor sports such as cycling, sailing, skating, skiing, and hiking. I'm always eager to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in the power of spontaneous adventures and meaningful connections. I'd rather hitchhike across a country than stay in an all-inclusive resort any day. Traveling for me is about meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and creating unforgettable memories.

I've had amazing experiences with Couchsurfing in various countries and absolutely love this way of traveling. I'm excited to spread the positive mindset of Couchsurfing and share good times with friends I haven't met yet.

I'm currently embarking on a big trip across the USA, from New York to Los Angeles, with stops in Las Vegas and San Francisco. I can't wait to explore America and getting to know the American way of life. After my trip, I'll be back in Germany and looking forward to hosting travelers again.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎶 I love going to (and photographing) concerts and listen to a wide range of very specific genres, such as Indie, Alt Rock, Metal, Techno all the way to 80s Disco Funk and exotic electronic music.

🎬 Movies - Indiana Jones, The Last Samurai, Kon Tiki, Black Hawk Down and series like Andor, Stranger Things, The Office and Prison Break.

📚 I love photography art books and mostly read non-fiction about human psychology, technology, mindfulness or personal development.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Moved to Australia to study and explore a new continent
- Flew to Japan with no preparation and hitchhiked to Mount Fuji
- Travelled through NZ with friends I just met at the airport
- Hiked 16 kilometers in the night to see the sunrise
- Built my own van and travelled through Scandinavia with two cats
- Slept in the trunk of a way too small car
- Slept in a car repair shop because my van broke down

- Capsized with a sailboat in Italy without proper training
- Mountainbiked next to cliffs on an island in Tasmania
- Exhibited my photography

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a lot about photography, from technical aspects to storytelling, editing and exhibitions. I'm also knowledgeable in graphic design, technology and bicycles.

I'm always eager to exchange about creative topics, self-employment, meaningful art or mindfulness. I'm also very much interested in how technology influences people and society through psychology, as I've been working on a concept for a healthy social media platform for years.

I'd love to explore cool spots in your city, learn more about your local culture and can share mine. Whether it's doing some activity together or just having an interesting conversation, I'm in.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm all about sharing my photography skills and taking awesome photos for my hosts. I can also tell you about German and Polish culture, my travel adventures, and tips for exploring Europe, Southeast Asia, or Australia. Plus, I'm always up for helping with any tech questions you might have!
