ABOUT ME

I am 21 years old and i just embarked on a journey across the country with my friend todd. before that i was living in pennsylvania with, sadly, my parents. about a year ago i attended college at the art institute of Pittsburgh. i was learning to design videogames which i learned is lot more boring and tedious than i hoped it to be. at the time i was heavily into video games and i was sure that i wanted to spend the rest of my life designing them. this might not be entirely false at this point but i found that i would like to explore other facets of life besides video games which i have up until this point in my life devoted entirely too much time. In the past two weeks of this adventure i have learned that meeting new people, seeing new sights, and trying new things are much more exciting and rewarding than any video game could be. Skate boarding has also found a place in my heart. I'm still some what of a novice at the sport but it is probably one of the most fun activities i have done to date. i suggest any one who has thought about trying it to get their hands on a board and give it a shot. I love music and art and anything creative. I'm some what an artist myself, although my art alot of the time would not be appropriate for children, it provides me and my friends with some laughs. speaking of laughing, that is probably one of my favorite things in life. I love to make people laugh and meet people that can make me laugh. in my opinion it is a vital part of living a healthy life. i dont really know what else to write... but i have a long journey ahead of me and I am sure that i will learn alot more about myself in the coming weeks, months, and years spent meeting people and this section is sure to grow.

Forgive and forget. an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. what goes around comes around. I try to practice these philosiphies but you know how it is... im only human.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couchsurfing.org but i would like to just meet new people, see new thing and share my experiences and share new experiences with the people i meet, and of course spread the word about couchsurfing.org to any friendly people i meet along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

since im new, not too many. but recently i met up with a couple couch surfers in Miami, FL and they really showed me and my friend a good time. we attended a drum circle on the beach where tons of people were in attendance. this was new for me and i had a blast! in fact I'm meeting up with my new found friends again for, hopefully, another cool experience.

Interessen

Video games of course, I've spent too much time on them in my life to just throw them to the wind. as nerdy as it sounds it will always have a place in my heart haha. skateboarding, art, music, reading(mostly fiction, i can handle a really interesting biography.) authors: charles bukowski, steinbeck, cormack McCarthy. I enjoy meeting new people, learning new things, maybe a skill or two for the road. I know some poeple dont like to debate or "argue" but i find it to be an interesting and engaging way to communicate and take a look beneath the surface of individuals. of course this is something I am learning to reserve for the people that have the same views on debate as i do. i love movies, all kinds, so long as they have a good story that can keep me interested. I expect to find alot more things that interest me on this trip, after all I am out here to find out who I really am.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love hip-hop (old school and some new school), electronica, techno, indie, any sort of new and interesting music. on the other hand i also like bluegrass, old timey stuff (old crow!). my favorite type of books are classic fiction. Anything with a good story that gets you emotionally attached to the characters. Stienbeck is my fave as of now. that is up to change if i find something more heart wrenching than east of eden. movies... i like em all pretty much... all the good ones anyways. i like the crazy japanese gore movies, the sappy love stories, the hardcore action flicks, anything that can keep my interest. of course kung fu movies are the bomb. tony jaa is my jam.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Spent New Years in a giant 3 story treehouse in New Orleans, Louisiana. it was a giant party and there was at least 50 people climbing around at once and there was tons of little platforms for people to sit and chat while others clambered around the rest of the tree house. there was a giant net bridge that connected two trees and people could hang out on that too. at the very top there was a little spot for 2 people to sit and over look the NOLA landscape. It was pretty awesome to say the least.

The more people i meet along my journey, the more i realize how little i actually know about anything haha. im up to learn as much as possible from anyone who is willing to teach!
