ABOUT ME

I was born in Iran. I came to the states in the 80's when arnold schwarzenegger was just making movies and becoming famous and now his signature is on my college degree because he is the governor of california...GO FIGURE! Got to love America it truly is the land of opportunity. English at first did not come easy to me but those ESL classes sure helped. I loved wearing Velcro shoes and New Balance when they were being sold at Payless shoe store. New balance shoes were 10 bucks a pair back then and then they got famous and now they charge and arm and a leg. I will never buy new balance now. Same thing happened with Lacoste. I used to wear Lacoste back in the 80's and people use to make fun of me and now its a sign of status...GO FIGURE...but i've tried to fit into those old shirts but not working out for me...hahaha. I've always loved school and educating myself. I learn new things about myself everyday because i challenge myself everyday. I love playing sports and I'm very athletic. I was a swimmer most of my life and was great at it until i had an injury. I was top 8 in the nation in my event and had hopes of making the olympics but that injury quickly washed those dreams away. I would have loved to be a Gold Medalist! I love travelling more than anything. When people ask me what my passion is, I tell them travelling or make money to travel! :)

As far as women go, I believe in love and falling in love. I believe true love exists and I'm a hopeless romantic. My first date was not until college...yes that's right. I believed in true love and i was saving it but it turned out that phenomenon didn't exist where i lived.

I believe in friends and I mean true friends. If you get to know me, you will realize that if i call you a friend you are like family and i treat you that way and i expect the same thing back. If i don't see or feel it, it's done! I will get on you like a brother and get on your case because i care and that's the kind of person i am.

I love my family more than anything in the world and yes travelling comes 2nd to that. Without the sacrifices my parents made, i would not have the life i do now. I don't take my life for granted and especially my parents or family's. They came to states for us the kids selling everything they had in their name and starting over from scratch in their late 40's. To this day i have not met anyone with that accomplishment and in my eyes my parents won the Gold Medal for that.

That's it for now...it's late and i'm tired and if i think of anything else I will write it down!

PHILOSOPHY

Have no regrets. Treat people the way you would like to be treated. Metal to the pedal. Work hard but play harder. Live life as there is no tomorrow. The future is what you make of it. Be a open book! There's someone out there that has the fountain of youth...can i have it please?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really participated yet. Just getting started on here. I do not have a couch available but I'm willing to meet up and show you around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I will have my first official couch surfing experience when I meet up with Sally or better known as Mustang79. She got me started on this thing. I met her in Rome on a Train more than a year ago and i've kept in touch with her. I couldn't believe a girl travelling alone throughout Europe by herself could stay at a stranger's house. What confidence and courage I thought to myself. I promised i would come visit her and more than a year later i'm going to the land down under!

Interests

MY most favorite thing in the world is travelling. I don't spend my money on anything else except travelling and anything related to making my trips more memorable and fun. Scuba diving. Working out. Working hard. Playing hard. Playing all sports. Love watching sports. Interested in becoming a multi-millionaire so i can buy a jet and take my friends around the world! Getting massages. Meet good honest people that will be life long friends. Keeping touch with everyone around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching movies like no tomorrow. I quote movies all the time. I still have not met my match in quotes from movies but some have come close. As for music, I love the 80's the most but enjoy everything else except country with a few exceptions of songs. Books....well i dont really make an effort to read them but I've read a few good ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing thing I've seen or experienced was my parents coming to the states. They sold everything in their name and gave up their lives for the betterment of their children. Having high end and influential jobs in their country they started over in the states and swallowed their pride for us. The most amazing part of it is that they did it in their late 40's and put 3 kids through college. We have all succeeded and we owe it to them. That's the most amazing thing i've seen!

AlSO:

I was in hawaii which was my one of like 40 visits to the islands of hawaii. I took my family on a vacation to hawaii. One island i took them to was the island of lanai. We stayed at the Manele Bay Hotel. Look it up. It's amazing. It's private and beautiful with its own beach and reef to snorkel and dive. Anyhow, this island is known for dolphins being there. When we arrived we noticed dolphins right off the shore swimming. They were leaving but i thought to myself how i wanted to swim with them. Then i thought well they will come back. We stayed the weekend and sure enough right when we were about to leave, I went back down to the beach one more time and they were there. I grabbed my gear and my lovely mom (she enjoys the water and snorkeling and especially dolphins) and i pushed her out in the ocean to join the dolphins because she does not know how to swim. We got to swim with hundreds and hundreds of dolphins in their own enviornment. It was one of the most surreal and amazing experiences I have had.

Teach, Learn, Share

"What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from." In my opinion T.S. Eliot could not have said it better. Today is the end of having fake friends or acquaintences. True unconditional friendships seems to be of the past or has never been in existence. Maybe it's in the county I live in. Irvine is a superficial city with many superficial people. However I just can't believe a city or a county could be the sole reason. I think in this day and age many or most people are only concerned about themselves. "Worry about #1 as they say". Everyone says this person or that person is my friend but are they really? Will they be there for you when you need them when they know you will be there for them when they need you? It's not just about being there and "showing up". Friendships are just like Relationships! They should be worked on daily and your friends should not be taken for granted. True friends don't go for over a week without hearing from each other. If that happens, they are not your true friend. NO ONE IS THAT BUSY! It shouldn't even go for more than a couple days. Many people say including my own family that the only people that will be there for you at the end of the day is your family. I've always argued and said no and that those kind of friends exist. However I'm starting to think more and more that this might be true. I like to be optimistic and think the best in people but continue to get disappointed. Personally anyone that I call a friend knows its for life and I treat them like family. I like to hear from them daily and my TRUE friends know this about me. I'd like to think I have a few TRUE friends but our society is turning more and more selfish everyday. Maybe that's the reason for such a high divorce rate in our country. People are more concerned about their own gratifications and think of themselves instead of thinking of other people that may be affected by their actions. Same logic goes for friendships. From this day forward I only want friendships that are Forever and meaningful. We should all only surround ourselves with TRUE friends.

I'd like to leave everyone in my opinion the true definition of a friend. I hope this gives everyone something to think about.

A friend is a lover, literally. The relationship between Latin amīcus "friend" and amō "I love" is clear, as is the relationship between Greek philos "friend" and phileō "I love." In English, though, we have to go back a millennium before we see the verb related to friend. At that time, frēond, the Old English word for "friend," was simply the present participle of the verb frēon, "to love." The Germanic root behind this verb is *frī-, which meant "to like, love, be friendly to."
