I'm still not sure what the truly educated person is, but I'm certain it's not dependent upon years of formal schooling. We will have been only half educated unless we have acquired survival techniques, a sense of human dignity and worth, an appreciation of life, the ability to give and receive love, the knowledge of how to use our limited time wisely, and the determination to leave the world a better place for having been in it. ~ Leo Buscaglia

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed once and hosted once. Both were great experiences. I hope to do more of both in 2012.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My only surfing experience was quite exceptional. It was in a mountainside villa in Ischia, Italy. My hosts were very interesting gentlemen and great tour guides. We shared new music. I swam in the georgous Garden of Eden. My room had french doors that opened to a view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and stunning Aragonese Castle! I slept with the doors open under the stars. No, I don't expect this to happen everywhere I go, but it sure was a nice first time experience.

Water based activities, especially in and on the ocean. Scuba diving. I cannot limit it to one- a decade of memories from living in South Beach-Miami, FL, growing up in a loving home, hugging Bono, dancing with Mick Jagger, swimming with the dolphins, meteor shower rooftop parties, working for the Winter Music Conference, touring with Nicole Henry, dancing with hundreds of people to a full moon in the waters off Ibiza, believing in God and daily experiencing miracles.
