Truly Experience This Carnivale of Life!
I move around a bit and love to travel. I believe it should be mandated for all people to travel, learn of different cultures, and make connections on a one on one basis. Life should be enjoyed and appreciated - positivity is a must - life is what you make it. Laughter multiple times on a daily basis is also a must - I LOVE TO LAUGH - although I've been told that sometimes my humour is slightly biting and sarcastic. I considered myself to be adventurous, although sometimes not as spontaneous as I would like - although I am always willing to learn. I have a beautiful dog - Dahlia - she loves to interact with people just as much as I do. Being a Bartender by trade, I strongly believe in 'job research'....;)
Work to live, not live to work. As I've mentioned before; be adventurous and experiment with new things - life is meant to be lived! As cliche as it, the one constant in life is change, so just go with the flow...live to laugh, love and learn.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to CS, this project was brought to my attention during my stay in Dublin, Ireland when I got caught in a bit of a housing bind. I believe that people are genuinely good, kind, generous, and trustworthy when given the opportunity to be so. Mutual trust is an easy thing to come by when you are willing to give what you would like to get. I love the idea of being able to network with people that entertain a similar philosophy.
All over the United States - Arizona, California, (Las Vegas) NV, Oregon, Washington, (Chicago) IL, New Mexico, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama. I've also stayed in Glenarm, Norhtern Ireland, and island off the coast of Spain (Mallorca), (British Columbia) Canada, and several different cities in Mexico.
MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC! hiking, camping, fishing, cycling, movies, bouldering, hanging with my dog, meeting new people, travelling, cooking, reading, just about anything to do with the arts; painting, photography, writing.'Sunday Funday', Keg Ball, going to pubs - there's nothing quite like watching sports at a pub with a beer and burger in hand. A friend once told me, "Life isn't about doing what you want to do, it's about finding out what you DON'T want to do" - meaning; you won't be able to find out what you like without figuring what you don't want to do - experimentation is the key!
- pub crawls
- watching sports
- rock climbing
Music, Movies, and Books
Oh jeez, this could be a neverending list! Let's see, I will read just about anything from cook books, metaphysical, fiction, anthropological or sociological, holistic healing, spiritual/psychological (i.e. gibran/jung). The same goes with movies - I do have a particular fondness for cheezy B flicks, love comedies and horror/gore. I do have to be in a certain mood, however to watch really serious dramas...
Music - okay, here's the list that is too big to list. I like just about every kind of music from bluegrass, rock, folk, culturally traditional, afrobeat, acoustic, R & B, funk, punk (mostly old school),and love being introduced to new bands of all sorts. I suppose the one rule I have is that I do my best not to expose myself to much of the stuff that's played on mainstream music stations. I have my own radio show for Northern College in Ashland, WI called The Skubovious Collective, and my main focus is to expose people to the many fantastic independent artists out there that they would otherwise not get to hear. Okay, so yes, I am that music geek that prides herself on having a library of music that no one has ever heard of:)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not too sure about amazing things I've done or seen - I take such pleasure in a lot of the simple things in life, they tend to blend with things people might consider 'amazing'...so I guess my amazing thing is watching and being a part of life and living on as many levels as possible - from appreciating the beautiful colour of the trees when they change in autumn, to witnessing a tornado...
Teach, Learn, Share
One of the most fantastic things I love about learning is that the majority of the time I never know what I needed to learn until the retrospection of learning it. I beieve in sharing information rather than teaching, and there is a great big world out there with an infinite amount of experiences to share with eachother...
