About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm Clara, from Uruguay and I'm 21 years old. Currently I'm studying at Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. I'm a vegetarian, I love The Beatles and football.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in one of the four residences on campus and I have a couch to offer. Also up for meeting up and showing the city around. I live most of my time in Bremen, but if it happens that you are in Montevideo during the holidays, I would love to be your tour guide.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just joined the CS and I heard it because my sister has joined a while ago and it's really enjoying the experience.

Interests

I spend my time meeting people from all over the world. I chose this way of life because I like challenges and having the experience of living everywhere. I love listening to people's stories because it gives me that amazing feeling of knowing the world is really small and at the same time it has such a great variety.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really into movies, but not really the Hollywood comedies. I adore Woody Allen. My favourite movies are Across the Universe (beatles, yeaaah), V for Vendetta and Scent of a Woman.

About music? Beatles, of course. But apart from them, I have a wide music interest, from The Clash to Buddy Holly. Beirut, Yann Tiersen, Tryo. Lots. And Latinamerican music, Silvio Rodríguez, Charly García, Los Abuelos de la Nada.

Latin American writers, Isabel Allende, Mario Benedetti, Eduardo Galeano, García Márquez. I'm a Harry Potter freak as well :) At the moment I am trying to read as many books listed in the best of 19th century in goodreads and so far my favourite has been War and Peace by Leo Tolstoi

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most beautiful place I've ever been it was the Iguazu Falls: it made me understand the inmensity of nature. Just hearing the powerful sound of the falls is impossible to describe. Even an atheist like myself has to believe in a superior power when you see such beauty.

Also, one of the most amazing travelling experiences was to sleep in the Sacre-Coeur in Paris. I went there with 4 friends and we didn't have much money, so we decided to stay there instead of a hostel. We had for sure, the best view in Paris and the crazy experience of entering the church in the middle of the night to pray (requirement to stay there). Seeing such a magnificent building at night with only 4 other people was something I will never forget.
