To go to as many little places all over the world and eat everything I am offered!
The best parts of my day are when I get to meet new people through my work and travels. Anxiety hits if I stay in one place for more than a year. I love to read, make wonderful food, eat said food, go camping and go hiking in the mountains in Alberta, Canada, where I am from. I love to run and bike and play soccer and squash and yoga, anything to feel healthy and strong. I loved learning Krav Maga (the Israeli martial art) while I lived in Turkey. Learning languages is a passion, and I worked as a translator for programs in Brazil and Canada translating English to Portuguese and Spanish. I work at the International Programs Office of my university, where I get to chat about traveling to people all day! fun fun
My favourite thing to do is send letters and packages to my friends in the post. I make it a habit to send all my friends something once a month. At the moment, I have about 20 friends that get something - anything from a postcard to a package of homemade cookies - every month. Many are couchsurfers whom have stayed at my house and just become really good friends! I am passionate about the power of getting something nice in the mail because it instantly can be the best part of your day or week, and I love knowing I have made people I care about smile. On that note, I also write letters for the "More Love Letters" project, which makes me happy. http://www.moreloveletters.com/
I like to cook. I like eating even more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love the CS project and have met many friends whom I hope will be lifelong - I love hosting when I am home because I love to play tour guide and share all the little things about where I live to others. The best travelling I have had was with couchsurfers in Italy, they really showed me a side I never would have seen otherwise. I'm eager to participate in any way!
EATING. Good books, biking, sleeping, running, drawing and painting, taking photos, watching documentaries, talking to people about their travel stories, camping, music (tom waits and eddie vedder are my favorites) and volunteering. I like to cook for other people and love hosting dinner parties!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen Copacabana and Ipanema beaches...from the air after jumping from a cliff and hangliding down, an image which has stuck in my mind. I've also been in St. Peter's Basilica for the Vatican christmas mass...by far, ringing in new years eve in Rome was the best! Recently, this has been replaced by a 5-day hike through the Andes and getting to see Macchu Piccu on a backpacking trip with my awesome brother and sister and dad.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll teach you some portuguese or how to cook some of my favourite foods. I really would like to learn a new language or improve my french. I'll share some art with you to brighten up your home...or perhaps we will even become good friends, and then you will get mail from me :)
