To have an adventure and meet interesting people along the way
I moved to LA with the intent of hermiting and making visual art, but I keep finding myself getting distracted by wanting to go have fun. I love to explore the cities I live in, and I love to WALK (yes, it happens in LA...the song was wrong).
If you ever want to go on a walking adventure, I'm game!
I'm opinionated, frank, love being silly, enjoy people with benevolent quirks but will shut down bullies in a heartbeat. If you're funny, sarcastic and kind and like people who are the same we will get along famously.
If you don't like animals, don't talk to me.
I've recently decided to completely re-evaluate my personal philosophy and explore what happens when I just take care of me and my boundaries for a while. I think of it as the Airplane Safety Philosophy - like they say on every flight, "Make sure your own oxygen mask is firmly in place before assisting others around you."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I use CS to meet new friends and explore wherever I happen to be at the time.
I couch surfed while I was in Japan for September 2010. It was a great experience.
Animals, music, art, social justice, good scotch, sake, desserts, tea. Kicking ass, taking names, taking naps.
Music, Movies, and Books
Musicians: Massive Attack, Muse, Outkast, Adam Ant, Bjork, Stevie Wonder, Tribal Machine, NIN, Justin Nozuka, Eskmo, Little Dragon, Journey, Scorpions, Saul Williams, SBTRKT, Rudimental.
Movies: Donnie Darko, Moulin Rouge (or any Baz Luhrman film), Power of One, Ratatouille, oddly the Hunger Games Series because I love a good uprising.
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire (series), Last of the Mohicans, Life of Pi
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw dolphins swimming around the mouth of the San Francisco Bay, right in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. That never happens, and it was magical. Also, I ran away from Yakuza in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Long story, short adventure :-). I watched the Space Shuttle Enterprise float by Coney Island Beach in Brooklyn. Ok that's 3 things, but they were all amazing to me!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an expert on pet rats. Yes, really. I'm totally not kidding. They are the most awesome little creatures ever. I worked on a rescue with 1,500 of them and I loved every minute! So if you want to know about rats, I'm your girl.
What I Can Share with Hosts
